Give it a try, don't let one of the biggest obstacles to personal growth and development be you!
No matter what it is in life you want to do, never give in before you even try, stay determined, and keep your attitude positive. Your personal growth will blossom, and a new, truly marvelous, confident you will emerge.

Sometimes the biggest obstacle is yourself. The problem you have is within yourself. Do you allow your thoughts to limit what you can do by saying you can't? Guess what? You are right, you can't, simply because this is what you believe.

How do you think it would be if you were to decide not to say you can't do something, but say "I am going to do this" or, "I can do this." Wow, think about it, just to voice those words give a feeling of power and confidence don't you agree? The next time you hear yourself, saying "I can't" why not say "I am going to give this a go" and put this thought into action and do it.

Another obstacle is your attitude. Your attitude plays a vital part in what makes you who you are. Have you conditioned your attitude by thinking that you are no good at things, so don't attempt to do anything? Have you tried something once and failed, and now base everything else on this outcome. You limit your  personal growth by not attempting to do what it is you would like to achieve.
I am sure you can see that by doing this you have put up obstacles to personal growth and development.
What if you do fail, what does it matter, you can still try again.

How can you help yourself?
The first thing you should do is try and change the attitude you have of yourself. Your attitude plays a vital part in how you will be.
Sure you can!!! be who you want to be, achieve what you want to achieve and overcome that obstacle.

MENTORING - Speaker < Pastor Sam Adeyemi > RCCG Leadership Convention in Baltimore 2012

I was privileged to be at the conference and to listen to this powerful message from one of the best motivational speaker in the world held in Baltimore Maryland USA. I cannot but share this with you all from Pastor Sam Adeyemi - In his words:

One question I always ask is "WHY" am I here? God must have brought me for a purpose.
In the beginning God created one man and one woman, He could have created 10 billion people at once but:
He created in arrangement for us to bring forth and to give birth, Why? To train, to nurture, to protect, to guide and to mentor those generations to come after us (Next generation).
I have learned to pray not only for prosperity but also for posterity.
If your dream is so big, it means that some of it have to be accomplish by the next generation.

Leadership brings Influence an example of this is Pastor E.A Adeboye, he has leadership and vision that influences people to challenge themselves to go far and above.

                                                   BENEFITS TO MENTORING

1. Mentoring brings credibility
2. Sometimes being seen with someone or gaining the approval of someone who has done well is important
3. It gives us the knowledge of proven results. When:

• Submit to the counsel of God's minister
• Ask those who has done it before
• Become that, the people wants to listen to
• Order makes for increase
• Not what you know that counts but what you do with what you know is what matters

     4.  Mentoring open doors, create opportunities
     5.  Helps us to avoid costly mistakes and saving us time & money.
     6.  Creates for us paradigm shift.
     7.  It enhances self-esteem
     8.  It deepens loyalty
     9.  It multiplies success potentials in both mentors and the mentees

God created man, man created money, but now man is now using the availability or non-availability of money to serve God or do things of God or what God can do.
Note:
In heaven they think resources not money.
Money is only a means of exchange of value; When you add value to peoples lives, value will come back to you (Luke 22:35). Do not raise money; Raise people.

                                               PRINCIPLES OF MENTORING

1. You need to create a positive environment
2. You need character and integrity
3. Openness
4. Independence: Mentors can only guide, you cannot own the life of a protege or mentee
5. Cannot be autocratic
6. Work towards making the protege independent
7. Flexibility
8. Mentors must not insist on the way that protege must do it the way they did it.
9. Both must remain focus
10. You get revelations.

God said my grace is sufficient for you but my strength is made perfect for you.
God works and anoints you in your weakness.
                                           
ADVICE FOR MENTORS-

• Mentors must be deliberate
• Mentors must be prepared
• God thinks transgenerational
• Focus on younger generation
• Give people paradigm shift
• Do not let people or protege struggle for survival
• Inspire the youths
• Invest time in your protege
• Share with them your experience
• Invest your wisdom and knowledge in them
• Love and care for them genuinely
• Mentors keep secrets and confidences

ADVICE FOR THE PROTEGE/ MENTEE

• Mentee should have clearly defined goals and visions
• Protege's should pursue the Mentors
• Maximize the time spent together, prepare questions to ask the Mentors
• Do more listening
• Follow the counsel of your Mentor
• Express appreciation to your Mentor
• Seek for the Grace on the Mentor for Grace is transferable.
